To express our deep concern about the great catastrophe, which was caused by the earthquake and the tsunami (tidal wave), and our sympathy with the great number of victims, our company participated in the organization of a charity concert, in cooperation with the Hungary-Japan Friendship Society and Vilmos Szabadi, violinist and professor of the Liszt Music Academy.
The concert, held in the evening of 27th April, was a wonderful demonstration of the solidarity of the Hungarians and their wish to help the victims. It proved to be an issue for which many people were willing to provide support: time, energy and money. We offered it for Japan, which is a faraway country, with a richer economy than ours. We offered it with good heart, as a Japanese family, whose house was washed away by the tsunami is as desperate as the Hungarian family whose house was destroyed by the red-mud in Devecser. Therefore the pain of the Japanese families may be eased by the solidarity of Hungarians.
Also, with our charity activity we wanted to thank the countless help, support, offered by the Japanese government, companies and civil organizations for many years.
The organizers, including us, have dedicated themselves for decades, to bring the Japanese-Hungarian relations even closer, as a better mutual understanding will create more successful exchange in the field of culture, society and business. The charity concert had high ranking patrons and was accompanied by a great attention and support, which shows we did a good job.
The performing word-famous Hungarian musicians, the high ranking guests, the donating companies and private persons, all joined us to contribute to the realization of a memorial evening in the Great Hall of the National Academy of Science. The concert had a sad purpose, but the atmosphere created was a solid demonstration of the importance of the Japan-Hungarian relations for us.
The donation, more than 5.5 million Forints had already been transferred to Japan. We would like to express our deep gratitude and thanks for those, who contributed to the event. We are going to report about the usage of the money on our website.
“Arigatou gozaimashita” – Thank you very much!
The Hungary Weeks event series have been organized by AZ GROUP and Sudy&Co. since 2003 with the cooperation of the Royal Park Hotel in Tokyo to increase the awareness of the Japanese public to the Hungarian gastronomic, cultural and tourist attractions. As the event had a great success, later further hotels joined the program in various cities of Japan.
