As of 1 October 2026, Sudy & Co. has begun working with Empire State Development (ESD), New York State’s economic development agency, to support its activities in Japan and strengthen economic and business ties between New York State and the Japanese market.
As part of this collaboration, Tomasz Rydz will serve as New York State Representative in Japan, helping promote New York State as an attractive destination for Japanese investment while supporting New York-based businesses in identifying opportunities in Japan.
A key focus of the collaboration will be to connect Japanese companies exploring opportunities in the United States with the investment potential of New York State. The state offers opportunities across a range of industries, including advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, life sciences, and emerging technologies.
Sudy & Co. will help identify and engage Japanese companies considering establishing or expanding their US operations in New York State. The team will also facilitate connections with Empire State Development and relevant local partners, helping companies navigate key aspects of the investment process, including site selection, workforce development, and potential incentives.
The collaboration will also support New York State businesses seeking to better understand the Japanese market. Through insights into Japan’s business environment, industry trends, and potential areas for cooperation, Sudy & Co. will help businesses explore opportunities for international growth and partnership.
Developing relationships with Japanese companies, industry associations, and strategic partners will be another important part of this work, with the aim of fostering long-term business connections and investment opportunities in both markets.
This collaboration marks an important new chapter for Sudy & Co. and builds on its commitment to connecting markets, businesses, and opportunities across borders. By supporting Empire State Development’s activities in Japan, Sudy & Co. looks forward to helping Japanese companies explore the opportunities available in New York State and enabling New York businesses to develop stronger connections with Japan.
